Beautiful Spring in South Korea - Insadong P.R. Center, Jogyesa Buddhist Temple & Insadong Ssamziegil (Day 1, 04 Apr 2013)

I feel a bit emo today due to some disappointments with work. But anyway, let me leave this behind for a while and concentrate on writing this post...

After we ate the delicious Ginseng Chicken Soup and Ginseng Roasted Chicken, we went to our next destination - Insadong P.R. Center 仁寺洞旅游中心 for Hanbok Experience. Based on my friend's research, it was supposed to be free to try on the traditional Korean costume. But, once we reached there around 5 pm, the staff said: "We are closing for business of today, and there is no more free service for the Hanbok Experience. The rental cost of the Hanbok is KRW 3,000 now. If you all still want, you need to pre-book and come over here again tomorrow!" :( So my friend asked them whether any other places can try with the Hanbok Experience for free. The staff were helpful enough to assist us to find out. Finally, we decided to go somewhere else to try with the Hanbok Experience on the next day morning.

Took out my T-Money card to prepare to enter to the metro station and headed to Insadong 仁寺洞
On the way Insadong 仁寺洞 Information Center... Wondering how my camera captured this effect of photo, my eyes didn't see any ray of lights during that time, maybe some magic happened...
Landmark of Insadong 仁寺洞 - Paintbrush sculpture
Reached Insadong P.R. Center 仁寺洞旅游中心
Insadong P.R. Center 仁寺洞旅游中心 - Hanbok Experience is not free anymore :( (Rental fees - KRW 3,000)

After we stepped out of the Insadong P.R. Center 仁寺洞旅游中心, we visited a Buddhist temple nearby - Jogyesa Buddhist Temple 曹溪寺. We just spend a little time visiting this temple and took some photos.

Jogyesa Buddhist Temple 曹溪寺 - Many colourful and beautiful lanterns
Jogyesa Buddhist Temple 曹溪寺 - Many different type of beautiful lanterns

Bye Jogyesa Buddhist Temple 曹溪寺...Heading to Insadong 仁寺洞 Ssamziegil

Next stop - Insadong Ssamziegil. This is a new traditional culture and shopping complex that full of shops/stalls selling handmade fashion accessories and handmade jewelries. I enjoyed window shopping in this shopping complex. I can see a lot unique and cute stuff there :) However, there is no lift or escalator in the building, we had to walk the staircases to visit all the four floors of shops...

Insadong 仁寺洞 shopping street - A lot souvenirs can be found here. But my friend said the price will be higher compare to other places

We reached Insadong 仁寺洞 Ssamziegil!!
Bigger view of Insadong 仁寺洞 Ssamziegil!! A lot young people like to visit here!
Insadong 仁寺洞 Ssamziegil - Spotted a shop that sells 'Shit' shaped of waffle! We didn't try it, but my friend said the chocolate inside the waffle is sweet!
Insadong 仁寺洞 Ssamziegil - Many shops that selling handmade stuff
Insadong 仁寺洞 Ssamziegil - 4-storey high building (No lift or escalator in the building)
Insadong 仁寺洞 Ssamziegil - It's fun to see caucasian try on Hanbok!! Anyway, I observed very less caucasian tourists in South Korea during my stay there compare to KL.
Insadong 仁寺洞 Ssamziegil - Big rose sculptures spotted at the staircases area
Insadong 仁寺洞 Ssamziegil - This place is good for couples to visit. Couples can put their love notes there. Unfortunately, I was too tired to enter into it.

  1. hi, i'm a korean girl, grace. i'm really happy to see your post. but i wanna tell you smth about your tmoney card. i think what i wanna say now is really helpful for your next korea travel. actually the tmoney card that you bought is a regular payment card. i mean.. you can charge money in the card whenever you want. actually it is for people who want use it in regular. korean subway has the disposable card(for the subway) and it is more economical for the travelers who stay in korea short time. but disposable card is only for the subway, so you can't use it when you take a bus. i think maybe there is a traffic card for travelers. so next time, it had better to visit the information center and ask about the traffic card for travelers. if there isn't any kind of cards for travelers, using disposable card would be better than using tmoney card. but when you wanna take a bus, you should pay cash. there is a implement to give changes, so don't worry about paying cash. but when you pay cash on the bus, you should use 1,000 bills. never use 1,0000 bills! because bus drivers have only coins. so, if you pay cash with 1,0000 bills, bus drivers must be angry. btw, i want my advice would be helpful to you. please use my advice when you visit korea next time. bye!
